MYRTLE -- A flag raising ceremony will kick off Myrtle Yester-Daze activities Sept. 28 at 7 a.m. at the Myrtle Activity and Senior Citizen Center. The Myrtle Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) will offer a pancake breakfast that day from 7 to 9 a.m. and the horse pitching tournament and quilt show will also start at 9 a.m. Parade line-up is set for 9 a.m. with horse/rider category being judged at 9:30 a.m.
The dog bench show will be at 11 a.m., and immediately following the show will be the wood events.
"Shoot Out at High Noon," a reenactment by the South Fork Regulators Club, will be at noon and a noon meal will be offered by the Myrtle VFD.
The community service award will be presented at 12:15 p.m. and the poster contest winners will be announced at this time.
Kids games including turtle, frog, sack and foot races are scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and the Anything Goes Contest at 1 p.m.
An old fashioned women's chore relay is set for 1:30 p.m., and a pony pull will end the day's events at 2 p.m.
