William G. Wells, 77, of Cherokee Village, died Sept. 19, 2002, at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1925, in Mount Vernon, Ill., the son of Ray and Edith Rynolds Wells. He was a field supervisor for Hallibarton Oil and Gas. He served as a radio man first class in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church and a life member of the J. D. Moody Lodge in Illinois, a 32nd degree Mason, and a former member of the Kiwanis Club.Survivors are his wife, Sue Wells of Cherokee Village; two sons, Richard Alan Wells of Alton, Ill, and William Terry Wells of Rochester, N.Y.; two daughters, Deborah J. Johnson of Jonesboro, and Patricia Sue Lavelle of Tucson, Ariz.; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.Services were Sept. 20, at the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church with Bro. Jim West officiating. Arrange-ments were by Health Funeral Home, of Hardy, Ark.
