Bobby Gene Black-man, 64, of Alton, Mo. was born Dec. 17 1937, in Slocomb, Ala., and passed away Sept. 6, 2002, at his home in Alton. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U. S. Navy. He loved to fish, and grow his gardens, and was a loving and devoted husband and father. He will be greatly missed.Survivors include his wife, Judy of the home; one son, Steve Blackman and wife, Cindy of Alton; one granddaughter, Stacy Barnett and husband, Eugene of West Plains, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Kobe and Logan Barnett; his mom" Lucille Jewell of Alton; two brothers, Linus Jewell and wife, Sharon of Orland, Calif.; and Larry Jewell and wife, Anita of Alton; and numerous other relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his natural parents; Duke and Odella Smith-Blackman; his "dad" Howard Jewell and one brother, Mack Jewell.Services were Sept. 11, 2002, at the Clary Chapel with Bro. John Lewis Casey officiating. Burial was in the Cave Springs Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton.
