Virginia "Ginny" Rose DePriest, was born Sept. 3, 1943, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., the daughter of Roland B. Williams and Cuba V. Evans Williams. She died Aug. 18, 2007, in Republic, Mo., at the age of 63.
She was an employee at the Baxter Lab in Mountain Home, Ark., for 24 years, retiring from her position as payroll clerk. She was baptized at the First Christian Church in Thayer at an early age and was re-baptized and became a member of the Thayer First Baptist Church in September of 2006.
She is survived by: four children, Jennifer Yeager and husband, Doug of Sparta, Mo., Jackie Kenyon and husband, Richard of Monett, Mo., Joe DePriest and wife, Enisa of Verona, Mo., and Jane Scallion and husband, Bob of Ozark, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Laura, April, Amanda, Jennifer, Austin, Brandon, Katie, Amber, Myleah, Elizabeth and Gage; one great-grandchild, Skyler; two brothers, Dean Williams of Conway, Ark., and wife, Fern Williams of Springfield, Mo. and Boyd Williams and wife, Phyllis of Thayer, Mo.; one nephew, Bob Williams and wife Ginger of Holister, Mo.; two nieces, Deanna Smith of Battlefield, Mo., and Lana Hastings and husband Tommy of The Woodlands, Texas; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Cuba Williams.
Funeral services were held Aug. 22 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, with Rev. Mike Martin officiating. Burial followed in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
