Clovis Merlyn Ragsdale, 86, son of the late Mont C. Ragsdale and Rosa Lee Taylor Ragsdale, was born Jan. 30, 1918, in Fulton County, Ark. He died June 22, 2004, in Mammoth Spring, Ark.
He was married to Thelma Boler on June 1, 1939 in Fulton County, Ark.
He was a retired farmer and a retired circuit preacher for the Church of Christ in the surrounding counties of Arkansas and Missouri.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma, of the family home in Mammoth Spring; a son, Wendell Ragsdale and wife, Marolyn, of Mammoth Spring; four grandchildren -- Ricky Ragsdale and wife, Beth, of Mammoth Spring, RaeLynn Simers and husband, Steve, of Mammoth Spring, Monty Ragsdale and wife, Kim, of Mammoth Spring, and Mary Alana Ragsdale of Mammoth Spring; six great-grandchildren -- Kayla Ragsdale, Lindsey Ragsdale, Brittany Simers, Jacob Simers, Emma Rose Ragsdale and Reece Taylor Ragsdale; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ragsdale and an abundance of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Cordell Ragsdale.
A graveside service and burial was June 24 at Riverside Cemetery in Mammoth Spring with Ted Clark officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, Mo.
Pallbearers were James Nicholson, Farrell Nicholson, Jerry Smith, Lanis Nicholson, Wayne Smith and Willis Pendarvis.
