Viola captured the 2A-North District titles in softball and baseball in tourney action at Viola City Park.
The Lady Longhorns ran their record to an impressive 22-0 with a 15-0 blanking of the Rural Special Lady Rebels in the district finals April 21.
In the three-inning win, Viola struck for four runs in the first, seven in the second inning on six hits, and they finished with four more runs in the third.
Lindsay Barker led the Lady Longhorns with three hits and four RBIs, while Kylee Shrable added two hits and three RBIs, and Kyla Batterton had a pair of hits.
The Longhorns (18-4) took top honors in the district tournament with a 5-2 win over Norfork (14-4) April 22 as Cody Hutson took the complete-game win by striking out 10.
With Norfork up 1-0 in the top of the first, Viola tied the game in the bottom of the frame as John Mark Montgomery slugged an RBI-single to left.
The Longhorns pasted on a run to take a 2-1 lead in the second on a sacrifice fly from Adam Hancock, before the Panthers evened the game at 2-all with a run in the top of the third.
Viola reclaimed the lead for good in the bottom of the fifth as Hancock, saddled with an injured leg, stole home on a wild pitch to put the Longhorns on top 3-2.
The Longhorns tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth as Jason Perryman dropped down a perfect bunt on a squeeze play to bring in the first run, and Hancock blasted a double to right that put the cap on Viola's 5-2 title win.
The Longhorns moved into the championship round with an 8-1 victory over Timbo April 21 with Kevin Painter striking out eight and allowing two hits for the win.
Cody Hutson paced Viola at the plate with two hits, including an RBI.
