KOSHKONONG -- Thomas W. Labo, 28, of Koshkonong has been charged with assault and armed criminal action.
According to a report from the Howell County Sheriff's Office, Jeffrey Coffel, 38, of Koshkonong suffered an eight-inch cut Aug. 3 after Labo struck him with a knife. The cut began on the upper portion of Coffel's left arm and ended over his chest.
The two men were reportedly at a barbecue at the Labo home when an argument broke out that escalated into the knife incident.
Coffel was taken to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains where he received 20 staples. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Labo had left the scene before law enforcement officers arrived but was apprehended at his Koshkonong residence Aug. 4. Labo was taken to the Howell County jail where he posted $25,000 and was released.
He is scheduled to appear in Howell County Associated Circuit Court Aug. 19.
