Collin Arthur Brimm, 78, son of Oziah Dee Brimm and Nettie White Brimm, was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Union County, Ill. He died Oct. 3, 2004, in Oxford, Ark. He was first married to Frances Hubbs. After her death, he was married to Wanda Lee Morgan on Feb. 14, 1997, in Oxford. During his working years he worked as a highway construction laborer. He served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Jones/Lewis VFW Post in Melbourne. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law -- Don and Maxine Brimm of Anna, Ill., Ron and Jean Brimm of Anna, Ill., and William and Deborah Brimm of Elgin, Ill.; a daughter and son-in-law -- Linda and Dennis Long of Tamms, Ill.; a step-daughter, Shirley Hill and husband, John of Elizabethtown, Ky.; two sisters -- Lucille Baldwin of Murphysboro, Ill., and Helen Stoner of Anna Ill.; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John M. Brimm; a step-son, James Rendleman; six brothers -- Frank, Carl, Russell, Bill, Roy and Vic Brimm; and a sister, Betty Boyer.
The funeral was Oct. 5 at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel with Ralph Allmon and Gary Wallace officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro, Ill., Oct. 7 with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Melbourne.
Pallbearers were Tony Ratajczak, Nick Rasmusson, Derek Hill, Johnny Brimm, Charles Brimm and Joseph Brimm.
