Ernette Ernestine Bethge Parker, daughter of the late Ernest Charles Bethge and Gradel Mann Bethge, was born July 26, 1937, in Stuttgart, Ark. She died Sept. 6, 2005, in Little Rock, Ark., at the age of 68. She was united in marriage to John Parker on Dec. 22, 1989, in Little Rock.
She worked as a secretary for the Stuttgart School System and an engineering firm in Little Rock.
In 1985, she graduated from UALR with a bachelor of arts in writing and journalism. She was a member of the Stuttgart Garden Club.
She enjoyed bowling, gardening and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her husband of 15 years, John Parker of the home; two sons, and one daughter-in-law, Kevin and Amy Blackwell of Tulsa, and Mark Blackwell of Little Rock; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Paul Crosmer of Conway, Ark.; one stepson, Johnny Parker Jr. of Raleigh, N.C.; one stepdaughter, Jill Parker of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan Crosmer, Jeremy Crosmer, Charlotte Crosmer, Annalisa Crosmer, all of Conway, Spencer Colson and Aly Blackwell of Tulsa, Jamie blackwell of Bauxite, Ark., John Taylor Parker, Casey Andrew Parker and Carrington Lewis Parker all of Raleigh; and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two half brother, Lamar and J.R. Marter.
The funeral service was held Sept. 10 at the Calico Rock Funeral Chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial followed in Roselawn Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home of Calico Rock.
Pallbearers were Howard Jeffery, James Landrus, David Wilson, Bob Carlson, Reed M. Perryman and Jerry Meizner.
Honorary pallbearers were Jay Knight, Dr. Robert Lane and Charles Andrew.
Memorials may be made to the Calico Rock Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Calico Rock or to Heifer International in Little Rock.
