Mary Etta Morrison Cotter, 89, of Alpaugh, Calif., died Aug. 27, 2003. She was born at County Line, Fulton County, May 22, 1914.

She was the daughter of the late J.R. "James" and Sara Jane Helm Morrison. On June 19, 1932, she married Harley D. Cotter. To this union 11 children were born.

Survivors include Margaret Dowdy of Alpaugh, Brownie Wheat of Hanford, Calif., Virgil Cotter of Alpaugh, Betty Drewry of Corcoran, Calif., Virginia Drewry of Alpaugh. Opal Sanders of Salem, Linda Bunch of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and a very special room mate, Iva Sills Dufer of the Delano Nursing Home. Also 24 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Cotter; two sons -- Joe Gene Cotter and J.D. Cotter; a grandson, Anthony Atkinson; a son-in-law, Sonny Atkinson; two infants at birth; four nephews; three nieces; and seven siblings: Ira, Troy, Floyd, and Ray Morrison, Clara Munster, Annebelle Morris and Lucille Witaker.

On Sept. 13, 2003, she was joined in Heaven by her lifelong friend and neighbor, Beula Field of Mountain Home.

Burial was at the Delano, Kern County Cemetery, Delano, Calif.
