William John Steinman, 84, of Cherokee Village, died Sept. 21, 2003, at his residence. He was born April 14, 1919, in Princeville, Ill., the son of John A. Steinman and Lena E. Kuntz Steinman.
He was a retired quarry superintendent for Elmer Larson Co. in Illinois.
William John Steinman was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during World War II as a captain in the Army. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 134 in Sycamore, Ill., and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite in Freeport, Ill. He moved to Cherokee village 12 years ago from Illinois, and was a member of the Cherokee Village United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy Lapicola of Collinsville, Ill., and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Gail D. Steinman.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Tri-County's Cherokee Chapel of Highland, Ark.
