Waif Edward Robinson, son of the late Elmer Robinson and Nellie Alford Robinson Phelps, was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Jobe, Mo.
He died Sept. 5, 2003, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 74 years. He was united in marriage in Alton, Mo. to Betty Lee.
He was a livestock farmer and worked for Alton Sales Company for many years and served as Oregon County Commissioner for three terms.
He enjoyed gospel music, his family and his many friends. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Angela Robinson of Alton; two sons -- Brient Leslie and wife, Sherry Ann, of Independence, Mo., and Randy Leslie and wife, Wendy, of Oak Grove, Mo., a sister, Ruth Sample and husband, Rome, of Benton, Ky.; seven grandchildren -- Shane Leslie, Nick Leslie, Lauren Leslie, Kevin Marler, Morgan Poe, Kyla Walker and Anna Greathouse; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers -- Harry, Elmer and Billy Joe Robinson; a sister, Iona Robinson and his stepfather, George Phelps.
Services were Sept. 8 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Rev. Jim Sample and Rev. Brad Robinson officiating. Burial was in the Cotten Creek Cemetery in Couch, Mo., with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., of Thayer, Mo.
Pallbearers were Charles Alford, Daniel Sample, Don Alford, Arthur Miller, Dick Richardson, and Kevin AraSmith.
Honorary pallbearers were Mike Dethrow, Barbara Dethrow and Dwight Holmes.
