Charles Duaine Anderson, 65, of Cave City died July 7, 2003 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born Nov. 1, 1937 at Calamine, Ark., he was the son of Ernest and Atlas Dement Anderson. He was an active member of Cave City First United Methodist Church and a member of the Board of Trustees. He had served as a song leader, Sunday school teacher and a Bible school leader.
He was a member of Sharp County Farm Bureau Board, was a Sharp County Democratic Committee member and was song leader for the monthly Senior Citizens Group. He had served on Cave City Nursing Home Board, Cave City Volunteer Fire Department, Cave City City Council and Arkansas Education Association State Board. He retired from Cave City School after teaching 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Jeffie Laman Anderson; a daughter, Karen M. "Shelly" Anderson; a son-in-law, Kenny White; and two granddaughters, Sydney and Tamara White, all of Jonesboro.
The funeral was July 10 at First United Methodist Church at Cave City with the Rev. Paul Strang, Bobby Sanders and the Rev. Wayne Johnson officiating. Burial followed in Cave City Cemetery. Arrangements were by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were State Sen. Paul Miller, Jon Patterson, Jim Smith, Johnny Curtis, Colonel Marlin, Tom Cobb, Jeral Hastings, Donald Hastings, Larry Brown and Birdie Rogers.
Honorary Pallbearers were Sharp County Farm Bureau Board and Ladies Group, Cave City Fire Department and Ladies Auxiliary and Dustin Smith.
