Pioneer Saddle Club in West Plains will hold a ranch rodeo at 7 p.m. July 19.
A ranch rodeo consists of teams of three cowboys competing in a series of events, including team penning, wild cow milking, chute dogging, steer riding, calf branding and a pickup race. The cowboys must have a broad range of skills, including horsemanship, roping, riding and all-around toughness in order to be successful in these events.
Additionally, calf scrambles will be held for children and ladies, and a roping contest will be offered for children under the age of 12. A jackpot barrel race wis scheduled to take place after the rodeo.
Admission to the ranch rodeo is $3 for ages 8 and up. Teams wishing to compete should contact Scott Riley at 417-256-5054.
Pioneer Saddle Club is located on Highway 14 one-half mile west of Highway 63 and 14 junction north of West Plains.
