Les Adam, 60, of Cherokee Village died July 5, 2003, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born July 2, 1943, in Wetonka, S.D., he was the son of Viola Melhoff and Fred Adam.

He founded AZ Industries in Temecula, Calif., which had been in operation for several years before moving the operation to Highland in December 1989. It is still in operation today.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Adam of Cherokee Village; a son, Jim Adam of Ash Flat; a daughter, Kay Seibold of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; two brothers -- Harley Adam of Cherokee Village and Gerald Adam of Bakersfield, Calif.; and five grandchildren -- Misty, Rainie, and Skylar Seibold of Lake Elsinore, Calif; Benee Adam of Fayetteville, and Chandler Adam of Ash Flat.

The funeral was July 10 at First Baptist Church of Cherokee Village with the Rev. Marty Polston officiating. The body was cremated.
