Cleates Marie Dewitt Kruse, 73, of Peculiar, Mo., daughter of the late Henry Alford and Oma Lee Sanders DeWitt, was born Nov 24, 1930, in Rodney, Ark.
She died Feb. 4, 2004, at Select Specialty Hospital in Overland Park, Kan.
She married Ewin LaFevers in in Feb. 1948 at Melbourne. To this union four children were born. She married Richard Kruse on June 4, 1964, in Overland Park, Kan.
She was a cook at various restaurants including the Wagon Wheel in Harrisonville, Mo., where she was employed for many years. She was a member of Coleman Baptist Church in Peculiar.
Survivor include her children -- Howard and Vi LaFevers of South Lake, Texas, Darel and Deana LaFevers, of Indepen-dence, Mo., Peggy and John Helton of Lavaca, Ark., Andrea True, of Memphis, and Walter Lynn and Jeanette Kruse, of Peculiar, Mo.; three brothers -- Thurston DeWitt, Viola, Frank DeWitt of Raytown, Mo., and L.W. DeWitt, of Adrian, Mo.; six sisters -- Cloris Newman, of Salem, Dolly Coonce, of Raytown, Henrietta Kirn, of Lee's Summit, Ethel Fann, of Yucca Valley, Calif., Deloris Tate, of Bandmill, and Judy Dillinger of Viola; and seven grandchildren,.
She was preceded in death by both husband, and her parents.
The funeral was Feb. 8 at Byron Presbyterian Church. Burial was at Byron Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
