Marjorie O. Thomas, 83, daughter of the late Lloyd and Georgia Sauvain O'Neal was born Dec. 14, 1920, in Neosho, Mo., and died Feb. 5, 2004 in West Plains.
She was married Sept. 2, 1943, in Jonesboro, Ark., to W.D. "Bill" Thomas, who preceded her in death May 20, 1978.
She was employed by the Bank of Thayer for many years, as a teller. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker and was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Thayer.
Survivors include a daughter, Jo Beth Mongomery and husband, Charles of West Plains; a son, Mike Thomas and wife, Bonnie of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; four grandchildren -- Shanna Head and husband, jay, of West Plains, Mo. Garel Mongomery and wife, Leslie of Koshkonong, Mo., Bill Thomas of Excelsior Spings, Mo., and Christina Thomas of Excelsior Springs; and three great grandchildren -- Dalton, Lauren and Jed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters -- Marie Blount and Marion Heller.
The funeral was Feb. 8 at the Carater Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with the Rev. Harold Urich oficiating.
Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery in Thayer, Mo., with arrangements under the direcstion of Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer, Mo.
Pallbearers were Garel Montgomery, Jay Head, Steve Jackson, Bill Thomas, David Nelson and John Coleman.
