Cecil Weldon Zeigler, 75, of Glencoe, Ark., son of the late Vernon Bentley and Lillie Florence Coggins Zeigler, was born Aug. 30, 1929, in Glencoe. He died Oct. 16, 2004, at his home.
He was united in marriage to Joyce Earlene Benton on Feb. 24, 1951, in Glencoe. He spent his working years as a husband, father, grandfather, bus mechanic and school bus driver for 46 years with the Salem Public School System. He was a member of the Salem Bass Club for 20 years and was an avid fisherman. Weldon was a member of the Burk's Chapel Church of Christ for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Earlene Zeigler of Glencoe; a son, Randy Zeigler and wife, Clara, of Glencoe; a granddaughter, Tera Zeigler of Glencoe; a sister, Lela Faye York and husband, Thadnel, of Sturkie, Ark.; three sisters-in-law -- Veneda Zeigler of Glencoe, Ruth Zeigler of Salem and Ramona Zeigler of Salem; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers -- Orville Zeigler, Edward Zeigler and Ray Zeigler.
The funeral was Oct. 18 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with J.D. Hinton and David Gibson officiating. Interment was in Burks Chapel Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
Pallbearers were Leon Newberry, Link Humphries, Kim Hall, Derek Hall, Stanley Hall and Bob Foster.
Honorary pallbearers were Doug Johnson, Larry Taylor, Don Johnson, Charles Crow, Joshua Alexander, Vernon Williams and Lester Dover.
