Meda Irene Phenix Conley was born on March 7, 1945, in Myrtle, Mo., the daughter of the late Robert Washington Phenix and Gratie Erma Wetzel Phenix. She died on March 20, 2008, in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 63.
She was united in marriage to Jimmie Howard Conley on June 10, 1977, at Thayer, Mo., and they shared 31 years together.
She was a member of the Cornerstone Worship Center. She was a member of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by: her husband, Jim of their home in Thayer; three daughters, Donna Ivey of Mammoth Spring, Kathy Elliott and husband,?Joey of Mammoth Spring and Crissie Conley of Bono, Ark.; three grandchildren, Amanda and Amber Elliott of Mammoth Spring and Kasey Conley of Bono; five sisters, Violet Honeycutt and husband, Les of Ash Flat, Ark., Ethel Copus and husband, Fat of Hardy, Ark, Goldie Mitts of Batesville, Ark., Sylvia Pitts of Monette, Ark., and Charlene Howard and husband,?Joe of Black Rock, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Jean Phenix of Batesville and Wanda Phenix of Thayer; special friends, Pam Dees of Bono and Reva Langley of Jonesboro; several nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Bob and Gratie Phenix; one son, Rickey Ivey; two brothers, Charles Phenix and Loyd Phenix; three sisters, Edna Chestnut and infant twins, Leda Marie and Linda Louise Phenix; and two brothers-in-law, Bobby Joe Pitts and Elmer Mitts.
Funeral services were held March 24 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Rev. David Dunigan officiating. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery at Mammoth Spring with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
