Marcillia Porter was born June 21, 1914, in Thayer, Mo., the daughter of Elijah Robinett and Eliza Jane Thompson Robinett. She died Nov. 14, 2007, in Salem, Ark., at the age of 93.
She was united in marriage Jan. 16, 1931, to Steve Porter who preceded her in death June 10, 1981.
She was truly a homemaker, often putting her family before herself. She was a talented cook and baker, baking with love, wedding cakes for her grandchildren.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and quilting, leaving many special memories with her family.
She is survived by: three daughters, Mary Grable of Mammoth Spring, Ark., Pat Pauli and husband, Joel of Koshkonong, Mo., and Evelyn Garrison of Bentonville, Ark.; one daughter-in-law, Audrey Porter of Mammoth Spring; twelve grandchildren, Tommy Porter, Beverly Chappelle, Linda Boyd, Karen Hayden, Janet Powell, Cheryl Dalton, Tamera Baker, Steven Pauli, Lisa Pauli, Rusty Grable, Kim Morey and Michael Garrison; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Elijah and Eliza Jane Robinett; her husband, Steve Porter; one son, Gene Porter; one step-son, Lehman Porter; two sons-in-law, Danny Garrison and Russell Grable; four brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 17 in the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Lee Moses officiating. Burial was in the Babe Collins Cemetery near Mammoth Spring with services under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
