OREGON COUNTY -- Oregon County is among the 25 counties in the Eighth Congressional District that has qualified for federal disaster loans.
A news release from Congresswoman Jo Ann Emerson's office said small businesses in the county that suffered loss because of severe drought conditions this summer are eligible for low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
"Drought conditions affect more than just our agriculture operations. They also hit ag related businesses very hard. These small businesses in our rural communities can now apply for disaster loans from SBA to offset the economic losses caused in these counties directly hurt by the drought should be aware of this opportunity and take advantage of it," Emerson said.
SBA Economic Injury Loans of up to $1.5 million at a four percent interest rate are available to qualifying small businesses in the county.
