Violet Jane Town of Salem, Ark., daughter of the late Edward and Mirion (Larson) Welsh, was born March 13, 1927, in Chestnut Hill, Penn. She died Nov. 7, 2007, at the Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem at the age of 80.
Violet was united in marriage to Stanley Selick Town on Aug. 26, 1944, at Philadelphia, Penn., and to this union two children were born. She was a member of the Fulton County Extension Homemakers and the Bereavement Group with Hospice. She served as volunteer for Legacy Hospice and was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by: a son, Eric Town and wife Karen of New Hope, Penn.; daughter, Diana Wiegard and husband Jim of Philadelphia, Penn.; four grandchildren, Sean Town, Jennifer Worrell, Amy Town and Michelle Lacey; four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Town, Zach Town, Jared Worrell and Madison Worrell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Funeral services will be held at a later date by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem.
