Delbert Eugene Withrow, of Salem, Ark., son of the late Otis and Iva Viola (Jackson) Withrow, was born Sept. 26, 1933, in Wayne County, Ill. He died Oct. 9, 2007, at the Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem at the age of 74.
He was united in marriage to Venita June Fenton on Aug. 9, 1998, at Wayne City, Ill. Delbert was a member of the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church and the American Legion.
He is survived by: his wife, Venita June Withrow of Salem; four step-sons, Rodney McCormick of Sims, Ill., Russell Draper of Cherokee Village, Robbie Draper of Salem, and Richard Draper of Jonesboro; four step-daughters, Dava Legg of Wayne City, Ill., Lisa Long of Hardy, Lori Gentry of Ash Flat and Angela Doty of Salem; two brothers, Harvey Gould of Fairfield, Ill., and R.E. Withrow of Tennessee; five sisters, Shirley King of Tennessee, Wilma Neese of Indiana, Doris Patton of Indiana, Lois Langdon of Indiana and Cloe Dare of Illinois; three foster sisters of Illinois; 17 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, a brother, Melvin; and two infant sisters.
Memorial services were held Oct. 13 in Illinois. Local arrangements were under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem.
