JoAnna Williams Tetterton, 76, of Cave City, Ark., died Oct. 5, 2007, at the Cave City Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Lewistown, Penn., the daughter of George Henry and Eleanor Foster Williams.
She considered herself a patriot of her country before being patriotic was the thing to be, because her husband and children all served in the armed services.
She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, needle point, playing bingo, antique auctions and gospel music.
JoAnna and her husband, Marshall Tetterton, owned and operated a gas station in Cave City from 1969 to 1980.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cave City.
She is survived by: two sons, Marshall Tetterton of Chicago and Todd Tetterton of Woodbine, Ga.; two daughters, Regina DeWolfe of Poughkeepsie and Sharon Matthews of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, George Williams of Washington; one sister, Barbara Collins of Norfolk, Va.; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Marshall Tetterton; a brother, James Williams; and a sister, Doris Williams.
A memorial service was held Oct. 10 at the Roller-Crouch-McGee Chapel in Cave City with Jeff Holland officiating. Burial followed in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.
