Ray Lex Fleetwood

Ray Lex Fleetwood, 83, of Cave City, Ark., died June 13, 2005, at White River Medical Center Batesville.
He was born June 13, 1922, in Izard County to John Isaac and Minnie Fudge Fleetwood.
He was a farmer; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Europe from D-day at Normandy through the duration of the war and he was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Della Mae Girtman Fleetwood of the home; two sons -- Karrel Fleetwood of Batesville and Danny Fleetwood of Cave City two daughters -- Cathy Landers of Cave City, and Mary Ann Dickson of Paragould; one sister, Euna Smith of Sidney; ten grandchildren; one step-grandson; two great-grandchildren; two step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers -- Fred Fleetwood and Guy Fleetwood; and three sisters -- Ola Fleetwood, Ruby Fleetwood and Tina Fleetwood.
Graveside services were June 15 at the Fairview Cemetery located east of Cave City with Alvin Wiles officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Matt Fleetwood, John Fleetwood, Aaron Landers, Jacob Landers, Zack Fleetwood and Braydon Fleetwood.
