Opal L. Turner, 74, of Camp, Ark., daughter of the late Joseph and Katie Smith Flynn, was born March 21, 1931, in Saddle, Ark. she died June 18, 2005, at her home in Camp.
She was united in marriage to Orville Turner on Oct. 17, 1945, at Salem. To this union six children were born. She was saved in 1949 and was a Pentecostal preacher for over 20 years, preaching in Arkansas, Missouri, Texas and Michigan. She also served the Lord in song. She was employed by the Fulton County Hospital for many years as a caregiver.
Survivors include her husband, Orville Turner of the family home at Camp, Ark.; children -- Janice and Dean Johnson of West Plains, Mo., Jerry and Cathy Turner of Camp, Wilburn Turner and friend, Judy Melvin of Caulfield, Mo., Brenda Sparks and friend, Charles Watson of Mountain Home, Ark., Mary and David Dawson of Viola, Ark., and David Turner of Camp; 12 grandchildren -- Lisa Mattox, Cindy Huseby, Mark Harlow, Jeff Turner, Tracey Dunn, Dena Sparks, Bo Sparks, Mark Guffey, Bobby Dawson, Jessie Turner, Jodi Turner and Kathy Lux.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and her father and mother.
The funeral service was held June 22 at the Cox-Blevins Chapel in Salem.
Burial was in the Camp Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
