Betty C. Kerley, 69, of Raytown, Mo., passed away June 12, 2005, at the home of her daughter. She was born Feb. 2, 1936, in Vidette, Ark., to Ralph Emerson and Lillie Leann Worsham Shrable.
She was lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was a loving wife of 51 years and mother providing for her family. She loved to write poetry , gardening and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband Winston L. Kerley of the home; a daughter, Debbie Wahlen and her husband, Stan, of Kansas City, Mo.; a son, Wade Kerley and his wife, Laurie of Lee's Summit, Mo.; a brother, Curtis Shrable of Salem; sisters -- Hasseltine Pendergrass of Bakersfield, Mo., Lucille Boles, Jody Sutherland and Lessie Jean Clay all of Viola, Joyce Hodges of Elizabeth, Ark.; four grandchildren, Brian Wahlen, Jeffrey Whalen, Sydney Kerley and Hayley Kerley; three great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by Lorene Rudolph, Judy Shrable, Rudolph Shrable, Lehman Shrable and Audine Rowelett.
Services were June 16 at D.W. Newcomers Sons Long-view Funeral Home in Kansas City, Mo. Burial was in the Longview Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were under the direction of D.W. Newcomers Sons Longview Funeral Home.
