Edna McCandlis, 93, of Viola, Ark., daughter of the late Edward Ezekiel Marchant and Lucy Lavenia Rand Marchant, was born Dec. 24, 1913, in Calico Rock, Ark. She died Sept. 25, 2007, at the Hospice House of the Ozarks in Mountain?Home.
She was united in marriage to Floyd John McCandlis on Feb. 25, 1936, at Wild Cherry Ark. To this union three children were born.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Viola Baptist Church.
She is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law, ?Neal and Wilma McCandlis of Viola; her daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Calvin Orr of Fordland, Mo., and Helen and Darrell Peel of Salesville; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Willard Marchant of Eugene, Ore., and Lee Marchant of Cave Springs; four sisters, Mildred Foster of Salem, Elda Foster of Viola, Juanita Robbins of Stover, Mo., and Imogene Wright of Cave Springs.
She was preceded in death by: her husband; a granddaughter; a grandson; two brothers, Heaber and Jessie Marchant; two sisters, Ruby Mae Foster and Reable Haughn; and her father and mother.
Funeral services were held Sept. 27 at the Viola Baptist Church with burial following in the Mt. Calm Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
