Arthur Fred Luedders, of Cherokee Village died at his home June 12, 2006, at the age of 77.
He was born Nov. 22, 1928, at Herkimer, Kan., the son of the late Herman and Sophia Niemeier Luedders.
He graduated with a B.A. from Concordia Teachers' College in Seward, Neb., in 1951, and received his master's degree from Washburn University, Topeka, Kan., in 1965.
He married Marjorie Luppen on Dec. 25, 1950, at State Line Lutheran Church, Wyoming, Neb.
He taught school at Omaha, Neb., Wisner, Neb., Alma, Kan., and Hamel, Ill. He retired from teaching in 1990 and moved to St. Louis Mo., until 1997, when they moved to Cherokee Village.
He was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church of Cherokee Village and served on the volunteer fire department at Hamel, Ill.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of the home; three children, Jim Luedders and wife Lori of Barnhart, Mo., Kathy Robertson and husband, Mark of Golden, Colo., and Karen Pummill and husband Brian of Cherokee Village; eight grandchildren; four sisters and one brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
A memorial service was held June 16 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village followed by interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church or to World Missions for the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.
