Larry Gene Ellison, 56, died July 8, 2006, in Hart County, Ga.
He was born Jan. 25, 1950, in Carlinville, Ill., the son of Jack Ellison and the late Anna Lou (Williams) Ellison.
He was united in marrige Nov. 25 1971, in Collinsville, Ill., to Deborah Lemonds.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, faithfully serving his country with the 10th Special Forces.
He was a truck driver, having driven for Consolidated Freightways for 24 years. The past three years were spent driving for Yellow Truck Lines. He was a member of the Teamster Union 728.
He was an active member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, Ga.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah of the home in Grayson, Ga.; three children, Jennifer Novak and husband Mark of Houston, Texas, Jamie Ellison of Grayson and Joshua Ellison of Lawrenceville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Zachary Ellison, Zane Novak, Hayden Novak and Tyler Ellison; his father, Jack Ellison of Mammoth Spring; two brothers, Robert Ellison of Mammoth Spring and Clay Ellison of Mammoth Spring; one sister, Magie Busch of Nashville, Tenn.; mother-in-law, Gladys Lemonds of White Oak, Mo.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann, and his father-in-law, William Lemonds.
A memorial service for Ellison was held on July 14 at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with burial following in the Sturgeon Cemetery near Mammoth Spring. Rev. James Lemonds officiated.
Funeral arrangments were under the direction of the Carter Funeral Home of Thayer.
