Born 8-6-1920 -- Died 7-9-2006

Claud D. Mosier, son of the late Daniel Bell and Mary Ethel (Rose) Mosier, was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Lakeview, Texas.

He died July 9, 2006, at his home in Glencoe, Ark. at the age of 85.

He was united in marriage to Mary Jacqueline Williams on Sept. 12, 1962, at Memphis, Tenn.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He was a rancher, a member of the Heart Baptist Church and a member of the Salem VFW Post 9777.

Mosier served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, serving in the First Marine Divison at Guadalcanal.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Mosier of Glencoe; three sons, Charles D. Mosier of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, David W. Self of Winnie, Texas and Michael E. Self also of Winnie; three daughters, Judith I. Kimbrell of Buckeye, Ariz., Lydia D. Campbell of Franklin, Ark. and M. Genei Stratton of Dardanelle, Ark.; two sisters, Lola Mae Steffer of Kansas City, Mo., and Mildred Bell of Longview,Texas; 22 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Mosier; four sisters, Lydia Othela Strawn, Rebecca Ramsey, Mary Tadlock and an infant; and one grandson, Randy Leon Meeks.

Graveside services were held July 12 at the Morriston Cemetery in Morriston, Ark., with Robert Nordon officiating. Interment followed in the Morriston Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem.

Pallbearers were David Self, Michael Self, Randy Campbell, Chris Barnett, Jack Campbell and Calvin Hall.

Honorary pallbearers were Scott Campbell, Bill Self, Milt Stratton, Ronald Latham, Mark Howell and Scott Holloway.

Memorials preferred to the Morriston Cemetery Association.
