John Kirk Law Jr., 68, of Hardy, died July 14, 2006, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.
Law was born on Oct. 24, 1937, in Troy, N.Y., the son of the late John Kirk Law Sr. and Beatrice (Snow) Law.
He was united in marriage to Patricia Buckles on Nov. 15, 1958.
Law was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Air Corps Special Forces Black Falcon during Vietnam. He was also a recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired from the Air Force. Law was a member of the Masons, the Wilson Lodge in Hardy the Royal Arch Commandry of the Knights Templar and was of the 32nd degree Scottish Rite.
He was a member of the Purple Heart Association, the VFW and the DAV. He was a past member of Highland Elks Lodge and of the NRA. He was of the Episcopalian faith.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Law of Hardy; one son and daughter-in-law, John Kirk Law III and Lisa of Greenbrier, Ark.; four daughters, Patricia Richardson of West Plains, Mo., Debra Law of Benton, Ark., Tammy Adams of Hardy and Susan Cross of Cherokee Village; one brother, James William Law of Berlin, N.J.; one sister, June Adams of Sellersville, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Summer Sheet.
A Masonic memorial service was held July 18 at the Tri-County Funeral Home in High-land with military honors. Arrangements were under the direction of Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
