Joe Frommel of Thayer, son of the late Philip Chester and Ethel Gilliam Frommel, was born Sept. 30, 1918, at Thayer, Mo.
He died July 10, 2006, at the age of 87.
He was a member of Thayer Church of Christ.
He was an engineer on the Frisco Railroad.
He was a Mason and a member of the American Legion.
Frommel served in the U.s. Army during World War II.
On June 5, 1941, he married Clive Ann Cash and to this union two children were born. She preceded him in death July 7, 1997.
Survivors include one son, Philip Frommel and his wife, Kathy of Mammoth Spring; one daughter, Rebecca Cantrell and her husband Harold of Thayer; four grandchildren, Steven Cantrell of Thayer, Angela Garrison and her husband Philip of Couch, Robert Frommel and his wife Theresa of Jefferson City, Mo., and Tracy Frommel of Mammoth Spring; one great-granddaughter, Sabrina; and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, wife and one sister, Gretchen Gohn.
Graveside services were held July 12 in the Thayer Cemetery with Bro. Erman Croney officiating.
Burial followed with arrangements under the direction of the Carr-Montgomery Funeral Home of Thayer, Mo.
