E.R. (Eliga) Trivitt, of Salem, son of the late Robert Trivitt and Cora Lawhorn Trivitt, was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Mountain Home, Ark. He died Oct. 14, 2007, at his home, at the age of 86.
He was united in marriage to Velma Clinton on Sept. 1, 1940, in Salem. He was self-employed as an electrician for many years. ?He was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. He found Christ as his personal Savior and a good man became a great man. His word was his bond. He was a loving husband and father, a compassionate friend and neighbor, and a gentle, loving teacher to his grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to one and all.
Survivors include: his wife, Velma, of the family home; his daughter, Glenda Gayer of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Jim and Nicole Coggins of Bella Vista, Gwen and Jess Moore of Pocahontas and Rodney and Andrea Coggins of Rogers; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two brothers, Leo Trivitt of Ash Flat and Junior Trivitt of Agnos; two sisters, Betty Mc-Calister and Ann Daniels, both of Belview, Texas; several nieces; nephews; and friends.
He was preceded in death by: seven brothers and one sister and his father and mother, and step-mother, Agnes.
Funeral services were held Oct. 17 at the Salem Church of Christ with burial following in the Agnos Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Cox Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
