Doyle S. Bonds Jr. , "Sandy," 61, of Springfield, Mo., died Feb. 27, 2006, with his wife, Mary and family at his side.
He was born April 18, 1944, in Little Rock the son of Doyle and Rosie Bonds. He grew up in Mammoth Spring and graduated from Mammoth Spring High School in 1962. Shortly after graduation, he moved to St. Louis where he met and married his wife, Mary, and began a lifelong career with the Frisco Railroad.
In 1973 they moved to Springfield where he finished out his career with the railroad. He was a avid hunter and fisherman his whole life.
Survivors include his parents, Doyle and Rosie Bonds of Hollister, Mo.; his wife, Mary; a son, Doyle S. Bonds III and his wife, Cindy; a daughter, Tina Cook, all of Nixa; sister, Donna Aldridge and husband, Davis, of Florida; granddaughters, Brooklynn and Chloe, and grandson, Jefferson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Marion and Alice Bonds, and Frank and Mary Johnson.
The funeral services were held March 4 in Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel in Springfield.
