The Izard County Consolidated Cougars put the caps on the 2AA-North baseball championship by edging past the Sloan-Hendrix Greyhounds 7-4 April 18.

The conference championship is the Cougars' first 2AA-North baseball title in school history.

ICC's (13-7) only conference setback came at the hands of Salem, as the Cougs finished with a mark of 11-1.

Adam Montgomery earned the win for ICC by giving up six hits, while fanning five and allowing two walks.

Kyle McCandlis and Scott Small rapped two hits and two RBIs apiece for the Cougars.

The Cougars started the week with a 7-0 non-conference setback to the Highland Rebels April 17 at the Cougar Sports Complex in Brockwell.
