Drexel Eulis Bell of Salem, Ark., son of the late Elmer Dawson Bell and Joe Cleva Langston Bell, was born Jan. 5, 1931, at Morriston, Ark. He died March 7, 2007, at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 76.
He was united in marriage to Carolyn Ford on Feb. 5, 1955, at Independence, Mo., to this union five children were born. He was a 1949 graduate of Salem High School.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was a machinist for Armco Steel in Kansas City, Mo., retiring after 30 years. He was employed by Town & Country Grocery Store in Salem and was a member of the Liberty Hill Church of Christ.
Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn of the family home; his children: Jerry Bell and wife Leona of Galena, Mo. Cindy Small of Horseshoe Bend, Janet Bell of Raytown, Mo., Carole Brotherton and husband Dale of Grandview, Mo., and David Bell of Franklin; grandchildren, Amanda Everett, Eric, Sara and Scott Small, Christine Riley, Shelly and Jimmy Brotherton and Jamie Bell; great-grandchildren, Case Everett and Annette Brotherton; sister, Regenia Kinder of Liberty, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Warden; and his father and mother.
Services were held March 10 at Cox Blevins Funeral Home Chapel in Salem with burial following at the Morriston Cemetery. Arrangements were by Cox-Blevins Funeral Home of Salem.
