James Earl Brown of Cherokee Village, Ark., was born Feb. 2, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio. He died July 29, 2007 in Batesville, Ark., at the age of 64.
James retired from the Chicago Police Department at the rank of Sergeant.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the JFK administration.
James was an all around athlete and regular contributor to the Ozark Opinion Radio Program. He was a top breeder of American Staffordshire Terriers, and also owned a paint horse breeding farm.
He is survived by: his wife, Carolyn (Schuett) Brown of Cherokee Village, Ark.; and one sister, Jeri Seitz, of Kimberling, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, Earnest and Mary Brown.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Kay Burton officiating at the Brown residence, located at 59 Chesa-peake Drive in Cherokee Village. A reception will follow the memorial service.
