The Viola School Board voted to accept Viola High School Principal Frederick Robinson's resignation at the Dec. 13 regular meeting of the board. Larry Luther and Jeremy Lewis have been selected to fill Robinson's place until the end of the 2007 school year.
The resignation comes after Robinson's Nov. 18 DWI arrest.
Robinson was attempting to pull away from Leslie's Pharmacy in Salem around 8 a.m. Nov. 18 when he was stopped by Mark Long of the Salem Police Department.
Robinson failed a series of sobriety tests before he was taken to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office.
Robinson's blood alcohol level was .29, over three times the legal limit.
