Fulton County man shot

Thursday, October 19, 2006

A Fulton County man was released from Baxter Regional Medical Center Sunday afternoon after being treated for a gunshot wound to the knee.

Zachary West was allegedly shot in the knee by the father of an unidentified male that West was chasing in his car on Oct. 13, according to a confidential source close to the incident.

The source gave the following account of what occurred:

West was involved in a fender bender with the unidentified individual. When the two got out of their vehicles to assess the damage and exchange information, a heated discussion developed.

Apparently, the unidentified male then left the scene of the accident without exchanging insurance information.

West then followed the other man to his residence in Viola where the shooting allegedly took place.

Fulton County Deputy Jason Martin is investigating the incident. As of press time Martin would not release information because the case was still under investigation.
