Funeral services for William "Bill" Sam Curry, 81, of Hardy with held Aug. 17 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer with Rev. Floyd Rikard and Rev. Don Tabor officiating.
He was born the son of the late William McKinley Curry and Allie Collins Curry Ivey on May 11, 1924 in Sharp County, near Wirth, and died Aug. 14, 2005, in Hardy.
He was a carpenter and a lawn mower mechanic. He was a Christian and of the Pentecostal faith.
He is survived by one son, William Lee Curry of San Diego, Calif.; three sisters, Mary Emma Hurtt Riggs of Thayer, Willie Mae Bradley and husband Bob of Hardy, and Ruth Reardon of Kansas City, Kan.; a host of nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter Ivey Jr.; three sisters, Dorothy Curry, Deloris McCoy and Susie Vincent; and his stepfather, Walter Ivey.
Burial followed in Stephen Collins Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.
