Williams is new school board member
MYRTLE -- Jesse Williams Jr. was sworn in as a new Couch School Board member at the Oct. 9 meeting. Williams was appointed to the board to fill the vacancy left by Steve Honeycutt who resigned from the board because he moved out of the school district.
Superintendent Tom Bull told the board that some of the school bus stops in the district had recently been monitored by the Missouri Department of Transportation and new signs have been placed at some of the bus stops.
Elementary principal Russell Deckard said the first quarter will end at the school Oct. 13 and parent/teacher conferences will be held Oct. 20.
The board voted to hire Steve Dexter as a bus driver for the remainder of the school year. They also voted to hire Sandy Roberts as a substitute in the FACS Department until Teresa Holder can return to work. Holder was injured last month in an automobile accident. The board voted to add Amanda Robert's and Sabrina Ryan's names to the substitute teachers list at the school.
