Oregon County Sheriff Tim Ward shows one of the more than 50 marijuana plants that were pulled Oct. 19. Ward said the plants were in a fenced area at the Narrows on National Scenic Riverways property. He said some of the plants were 6-1/2 feet tall. Ward said he believes the pot patch to have been abandoned and may have even come up from a crop that was planted in the same spot a year ago. He said an investigation into the marijuana crop is still on-going. The sheriff's department was aided in the seizure of the plants by officers with the Forest Service.
