Ransom C. Jones, 97, of Cave City, died July 15, 2005, at the Cave City Nursing Home. He was born April 10, 1908, at Cave City to James Arthur and Alice Jackson Jones.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran having served in World War II, retired city marshall and justice of the peace at Cave City. He worked as a bodyguard for Joan Crawford for several years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cave City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ferrell Jones; two sisters, Freida Jones and Floy Bristow.
Survivors include one brother, Arthur Burl Jones of North Little Rock; one sister, Jamie Vilia of Phoenix, Ariz.; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held July 20 at the Cave City Cemetery with Rev. Larry Morris officiating. Arrange-ments were under the direction of the Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Tom Penn, Jimmy Bristow, Kirby Smith, Larry Brown, Steven Green and Bill Pinkston.
