George Leo (Leon) James, age 61, of Williford, Ark., died July 11, 2005, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
He was born in Ravenden, Ark., Dec. 24, 1943, the son of Earl and Idah Marie Dubois James.
He was married in Joliet, Ill., on June 28, 1964, to Edna Marie Rogers. He was employed as a lab technician by Martin Marietta Materials in Black Rock and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Edna James of the home; two sons -- Gary James of Hardy, and David James of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one daughter, Bonnie Marie Pine of Coldwater, Miss.; three sisters -- Lena Inshaw of Hidden Valley, Ark., Beulah Baldridge of Ravenden, and Joy Wooten of Georgia; six grandchildren -- Coty James of Highland, Davey James of Jonesboro, Jessica James of Hardy, Marty James and Zoe James both of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Marcus James of Nellyville, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Marty Allen James; one brother, Junior James and one sister, Juanita Stevens.
Graveside funeral services were held July 15 at Bradford Cemetery with Tom O'Neal officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Higgin-botham Funeral Home of Hardy.
Pallbearers were Delbert James, Curtis James, Terry James, Freeman Davis, Kenny Wooten and Jackie Martin.
