Monroe Cates, 80, died Aug. 14, 2006, at his home in Ash Flat.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; 14 children; a brother, Charley Cates of Doniphan, a sister, Ida Purl of Texas; 42 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and special friends, Robert and Dorothy Pruitt of Pocahontas.
Services will be held Aug. 18 in the chapel of McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Bro. Free Clower officiating. Burial will follow in Ingram Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jay L. Lawson, Tim Lewallen, Vernon Cates, Carlton, Cates, Rocky McCollum Jr. and Norman Prewitt.
Honorary pallbearers were David McCollum and Tim Wasson.
