Herbert Bernard Neander, 87, of Cherokee Village died July 27, 2006, at the White River Medical Center in Batesville.
He was born Feb. 17, 1919, the son of the late Olaf and Anna (Green) Neander.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He worked as an accountant for many years before retiring. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and of the Lions Club and in Illinois on the library board. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village.
Survivors include his daughter, Dawn Moser of Frankfort, Ill.; two brothers, Raymond Neander of Dolton, Ill., and Richard Neander of Lockport, Ill.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for Aug. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Peace Lutheran Church in Cherokee Village with Pastor Brian Pummill officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of the Tri-County Funeral Home of Highland.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church.
