Maudie Edwards Sharp, 96, of Evening Shade died Feb. 19, 2006, at a Batesville hospital. She was born Sept. 11, 1909, near Evening Shade, the daughter of the late Jefferson Davis Edwards and Emily Huckabee Edwards. She was a homemaker and farmer.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Evening Shade and the Women's Mission- ary Union. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and lived in the Evening Shade area her entire life. She enjoyed cooking and liked to pick cotton.
Survivors include four sons, Laddie Sharp, Dwight Sharp and William Sharp all of Evening Shade and Donald Sharp of Gassville; three daughters, Joyce Fudge of Rogers, Frances Lane of Desloge, Mo., and Marilyn Batterton of Franklin; a brother, Tom Edwards of North Little Rock; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Spellman Sharp; three sons, Lloyd Sharp, Dale Sharp and Roy Sharp; three grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters.
The funeral services were held Feb. 23 at First Baptist Church of Evening Shade with Robert Hutchison and Larry Weaver officiating. Burial followed in the Williams Cemetery west of Evening Shade. Arrangements were by Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers were Paul Bacon, J.C. Qualls, Van Johns, John Ables, Brian Bowser and Barry Farris.
