Frances May Barry, of Viola, Ark., daughter of the late Ernest and Lily (David) Winter, was born on Feb. 11, 1925, in Lee Township, Mich. She died Aug. 29, 2007, at the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ark., at the age of 82.
She was united in marriage to Alpheus Frank Barry on Aug. 19, 1945, at Jackson, Mich., and to this union three children were born.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
She was a member of the George D. Hay Society, Mammoth Springers Square Dance Club and various others over the past 26 years, and played the spoons in a local band for 10 years.
She is survived by: her husband, Alpheus Barry of Viola; a son, Phillip Barry and wife, Linda of Salem, Ark.; two daughters, Kay Knight and husband, Steve of Roanoke, Va., and Linda Goure and husband, Larry of West Plains, Mo.; a brother, Lee Winter of Albion, Mich.; eight grandchildren, Elaine (Barry) Gott, Michael Barry, Melinda Knight, Christopher Knight, Amy Turner, Claudia Hicks, Shawn Goure and Robert Goure; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Ark.
