MAMMOTH SPRING -- The program season at Mammoth Spring State Park will begin early this year with Bluebird Day March 11.
Anyone interested in learning about bluebirds and building a bluebird box to take home can attend this program.
The Spring River Sportsman's Club sponsors this event each year and members will be on hand to help build the nest boxes. Materials and spaces are limited; participants should call to reserve by March 6. One can call the park to register or to get more information at 870-625-7364.
Assistant Park Superintendent Glenda Pryor said the programs will continue with Free Museum Day March 18, and a workshop to make a Native American keepsake pouch necklaces also on March 18.
Programs and/or workshops will be offered each Saturday in April, starting with a fly-fishing workshop on April 1 and then a basket-weaving workshop on April 8. All workshops require a fee and pre-registration.
The annual Easter Egg Scramble will be held on Easter Sunday, April 16, at 2 p.m. for kids 11 years and younger. Mustang Amusements and the Easter Bunny will be at the park.
The Mammoth Spring Garden Club will hold their annual Herb and Plant Sale April 22 at the Welcome Center.
April's programming will end April 29 with a program featuring the reptiles and amphibians of the area, Scalies and Slimies of Arkansas.
